Wet and wild in Mornington

Monster waves, gusty winds and pelting rain and hail were wild scenes as I swept through Melbourne’s seaside town of Mornington this afternoon.

Wind gusts as much as 80 km/h were recorded near the area just before 5pm.

There was plenty of action at Mornington’s popular Schnapper Point fishing arena as Mother Nature put on a mighty performance.

Cars moved at a crawl as drivers took in the astounding views.

Other stickybeaks, me included, braced ourselves against the strong winds to capture our show-and-tell moments of this blustery day by the sea.
